Shirke talks about how global transformation comes from individuals making time to actively engage with new media.. during spare time we are sharing our art, engaging in political debates through facebook.  Companies depending on peoples cognitive surplus in order to make money. The guardian like to use Cognitive surplus such as hiring writers to tweet and engage with wider audience...every 15 mins perhaps this is why they have more followers.
